On Thursday, April 12, 2007, students at St. George Academy and Elementary School were honored and blessed to welcome Most Reverend Bishop Paul P. Chomnycky O.S.B.M., Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Stamford.
Bishop Paul presided over a special mass at our beautiful church after which students greeted him at the school.
Students waited with excited anticipation in order to greet our new Bishop and guide him on a tour of the entire school.
Bishop Paul took his time, meeting with every class and having discussions on a variety of topics. Every student was given a prayer card gift and the Bishop asked that the students pray for him in his new assignment.
Students were treated to group photos with the bishop along with our beloved pastor, Very Reverend Bernard Panczuk, O.S.B.M., and Sister M. Theodosia Lukiw, O.S.B.M., our elementary school principal.

All in all, the students felt spiritually blessed and uplifted by Bishop Paul's visit. Many students noted that the Bishop's honest and gentle way with children helped put them at ease. A feeling of warmth and love emanated from the Bishop.
The Bishop was treated to a special song by this group of younger students.

At St. George Academy and Elementary School, we are proud and blessed to have such a caring and loving spiritual leader. We wish him much success in his new assignment. God Bless our Beloved Bishop Paul!
